A short surrealist documentary, Orwell in Catalonia, was shot at the exact bunker where George Orwell was located for part of his time during the Spanish Civil War in Catalonia, Spain. During the filming of this area, dark clouds gradually formed and a sudden hailstorm overtook us. The film begins with this hailstorm, and then continues until the last stone is melted - a direct metaphor to the anarchistic world view which at present is slipping away in history.
This is the first component of the Orwell in Catalonia / Anarchism in Memory VR installation located in the VR section.

HAVE THE BODY YOU’VE ALWAYS WANTED* - with these Seven Easy Steps the fat will just fall away and all the world will finally see the “REAL YOU”. But wait, there’s more! If you follow our instructions exactly - you may even see the “REAL WORLD” too!

The bathroom is our last refuge. No one can follow you into the shitter, nor will your sphincter allow you to escape. With nowhere to go and no one to bother it, the mind is forced into its natural inclination. Upon this lonely throne a space opens up, a cog is loosened, and out flows anarchism. But as quickly as it began, this bowel movement ends and we return to the world flushed, unable to fathom this freedom.
There is a chasm between what an object is and our own conception of the object. We have a personal understanding of how something operates: what it is and can do physically. However, working at lower oscillation, objects extend out into the world metaphysically, invisible to the eye. If we see through a glass darkly, then this is what we would see without it. It is a removal of the apparatus for a moment, a reflection upon that moment, and its allegorical extension into space and time.
Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is an anxiety disorder that is characterized by excessive, uncontrollable and often irrational worry about everyday things that is disproportionate to the actual source of worry.
There are moments which can never be forgotten. A crack forms and out trickles something that does not make sense, but feels right. A pressure slowly builds up to take the world we inhabit and make it fit this sense. Reality bends to our beliefs until we look upon our own hands and are unable to figure out what they do. Anarchism envisioned today is surreality.
How does the mind understand reality? Do we comprehend it via some innate ability inside us, moment by moment. Or more pragmatically (after Peirce), are we a stream of consciousness, our past beliefs affecting our current comprehension. The later is what modern science points to, but many seem to avoid believing none the less. For if we are harnessed into a particular perception of our current thoughts by what comes before, it thus rests on the quality of these earlier beliefs - where they came from, how they were generated, from who, and for what purpose - which is truly paramount in our control of our understanding of the current state of our union.
